Simian Publishing is seeking submissions of dark fantasy/horror for a new anthology called Apotheosis: Stories of Survival After the Rise of the Elder Gods, which will feature “Lovecraft Mythos” tales of human survival, insurgency and insubordination in a world ruled over by the reversion of the Elder Gods.
The human species has evolved and struggled over the millennia to become the dominant race on Earth only to be overshadowed and threatened by the return of the Elder Gods to claim Earth as their own dominion and humans as their slaves. The publisher wants stories inspired by the genre and craft dominated by H.P. Lovecraft and similar renowned writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Algernon Blackwood and Lord Dunsany.
The anthology will include timeless tales influenced by ancient deities and creatures and precursors of the mythos. Word length: 2K-7K words per story. Payment: 3 cents/word (considered semi-pro rates for this genre), plus one contributor’s copy of both the print and digital books. Reprints pay 1 cent/word. Deadline: December 31, 2014.
Since I am a dark/sci-fi writer, I’m a great fit for this publication. I am looking forward to writing new pieces, submitting, and reading some dark fiction! 🙂
